The Baseballs are a German based rock ‘n’roll band. They represent a new evolution of the musical heritage of Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly &Co. "Voc'n'Roll" was born and The Baseballs at the same time! They put a truly unique twist on modern day anthems such as Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’, Katy Perry’s ‘Hot n Cold’, and Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’.
The aim of the campaign was to introduce The Baseballs – Sam, Digger and Basti - to the Irish market and to drive digital sales – which it did with a Top 10 album on iTunes Ireland.
In keeping with the band’s image, competition prizes consisted of 50’s style MP3 Juke Box, €50 dinner vouchers for Eddie Rockets and exclusively signed copies of their album. The competition ran on a dedicated page on Independent.ie Entertainment. It was promoted with competition slider throughout the site, a number of daily newsletters to Independent.ie members and links from Warner Music’s social networks. Alongside this were a number of rich media banner ad formats that featured the 'Umbrella' video, audio and competition details.
Overall this campaign gave the audience the perfect opportunity to experience everything that The Baseballs encapsulate.
